Calling all friends and fam...

Many of you probably are aware that my friend Ashley and I have been asking for donations these last few months for a cause that has become very special to our hearts. In the past three years, we’ve made the trek to Jersey to support an event created by celebrity hairstylist, genuine angel, and the most selfless human being, Martino Cartier.
Martino Cartier created Friends Are By Your Side as a nonprofit organization to provide completely free wigs and hair replacement services to women and children battling cancer. While most organizations pile on the fees, are guarded with red tape in the process and have waiting lists when it comes to wig requests, FABYS bypasses all of that. Their only concern is bringing joy, confidence and a sense of security to those individuals in the most challenging time of their life.
However, FABYS doesn’t stop there. Not even close. If getting a wig from anywhere else sounds troublesome, having a wish granted entails more loopholes when it comes to other organizations of which you may be more familiar. Again, there are waiting lists, red tape, and time- which many of these beautiful souls are not afforded. And again, FABYS evades this grueling process.
To see all of this in action, meet this magical spirit, Kiki, as her story is remembered:
A Night of Wigs and Wishes is an extraordinary evening where salons, companies, sponsors, advocators, families and more come together once a year. Lucien’s Manor in Berlin, NJ becomes aglow and sparkles with hope, happiness and true magic.
Wigs are received, styled and modeled on stage. Stories are shared- the heartwarming and the heartbreaking. Tears are shed. Wishes are granted and many unfold directly on stage in the moment. Touching performances also take place. Not to mention, hundreds of thousands of dollars are raised all evening long so that these acts of genuine kindness can be carried out for another 365.
We’ve seen the magic happen first hand. We’ve seen the inspiring and the very difficult changes from one year to the next. We’ve seen this organization consistently defy any other cause we’ve witnessed before.

That is why, on July 28th, Ashley and I are traveling to Norwalk, CT to the stunning Wall Street Theater to dance our hearts out for this cause. BUT– we need your help. We need your donations as motivation to keep us on our feet for 3+ hours of dancing with fitness instructors from around the world!
Our goal is set at $200, and we are already over halfway there. However, we’d like to give as much as we can. Maybe you can only spare $1. It counts and is all equally appreciated. Every penny from this event goes to Wigs & Wishes which is a 501 c3 tax-deductible charity.

To learn how you can attend A Night of Wigs & Wishes on November 4, 2018, tickets and other information can be found here.
Ashley and I are beyond thrilled to attend this event and combine our love for dance fitness and giving back. It is genuinely an honor to support our magnificent friend and Dance It Out creator, Billy Blanks Jr. along with Martino Cartier in bringing more of these wishes to life. These donations also assist families during and following this tremendously difficult time.
Thank you for reading. And, even if you are unable to donate, please share this post and/or our donation link (Paypal) on any platform that you can. We can’t wait to celebrate this cause on National Dance Day and maybe break a record in the process. Please stay tuned for a follow-up post on what will be a truly awe-inspiring day.
